NYSC Members To Get N2m Start-up Capital from BOI

The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, Mr. Emmanuel Attah, has said the Federal Government has made plans for corps members with good business ideas to get loans of between N200,000 and N2m to start their businesses after the service year. Attah stated that the loan, which would be given in collaboration with the Bank of Industry, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, would be made available to corps members after they might have undergone skill acquisition and entrepreneurial development programmes. The coordinator said this during the skill acquisition and entrepreneurial development inter-platoon competition and exhibition at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun State on Tuesday.

Corps Members, others die in car accident in Delta

On Sunday two members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), alongside four unidentified travelers died in ghastly auto crash while traveling from Effurun to Sapele, on Warri-Benin Expressway. The accident, which involved a Jetta car and a black SUV, occurred at about 11:30a.m. near Okwejeba Junction in Okpe council area of Delta State.

Three corps members arrested for robbery in Niger

Three members of the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, are currently cooling their heels in the custody of the Niger State Police Command for allegedly dispossessing one Mrs. Anyanwu Obioma of her belongings at Halidu Gezu Plaza in Suleja.

Missing female NYSC member found

The Corps member, Susan Ijeoma Azubike, who was last seen on Sunday May 31st in Owo, Ondo State after armed robbers attacked a GUO Transport bus conveying her and several other passengers to Lagos from Abuja where they were serving, was rescued by the police two days ago.

Female Corps Member Raped to Death in Kwara

A female National Youth Service Corps member, Miss Yetunde Idowu was raped to death by a 51-year-old man, Abdullahi Tanko, and his gang members. A police prosecutor of the Kwara State Police Command, Mr. Matthew Ologbon, informed an Ilorin Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Mr. K.A.Yahyah, about the case. Idowu’ corpse was found at the Ilorin GRA.
