‘1,071 Killed, 685 Kidnapped In First Quarter Of 2019’

The acting Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, said that 1,071 persons lost their lives in crime-related cases across the country in the first quarter of 2019. The IGP made this known during the quarterly Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council meeting held on Tuesday in Kaduna.

2 men arrested while fighting over stolen panties

Nigeria Police release names of 5,253 shortlisted candidates nationwide

The Nigeria Police have invited, for medical screening, candidates who passed the nationwide recruitment examination conducted on Friday by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). According to the list published on the Nigeria police website, https://psc.org.ng/candidateslist/, the candidates were directed to go for the screening at the zonal police headquarters in their state of origin between May 31 and June 3.

Making Calls At Filling Stations Is A Crime — Nigeria Police

The Nigeria Police Force have said that making phone calls at filling stations is a criminal offence which could land the offender in jail. The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, stated that an offender could be prosecuted and jailed for attempted arson. SARS officer reportedly kills husband of woman who refused to have sex with him

The wife of 37 year old Seun Ayoade, pictured above has accused an officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ondo State Police Command, Ojelabi Oladele, of torturing her husband to death because she refused having sex with him while she was married to the deceased. Gbemisola in an interview with Sahara Reporters, said Seun and officer Ojelabi Oladele were friends and that during her marriage to Seun, Ojelabi had asked her for sex and she turned him down. He persisted in his request and she repeatedly turned him down on the grounds that she is married and not just that, but that she is married to someone who is his friend. Gbemisola alleged that this did not go down well with Ojelabi who framed her ex-husband up, got him arrested on October 12th and had him tortured to death while in SARS detention.

You Are Still a Police Officer- Police Declare Senator Misau Wanted For Desertion, Forgery

The Nigerian Police Force said yesterday that Senator Isah Hamma Misau, is a deserter from the  organisation and that he will be arrested for the crime and possible forgery of a retirement letter.

It was the twist in the financial allegation slammed against the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris  by the Senator, who claimed that Idris diverted N10billion income made by the police.

The police responded by not only debunking the allegation, but also claiming that Senator Isah Mamman Misau deserted his post in Niger state seven years ago as a Deputy Superintendent.

Dismissed Air Force Officer Among Boko Haram Fighters In Clash With Police

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Yusuf, yesterday, disclosed that one of the Boko Haram suspects, who allegedly engaged the Police in a gun battle in Kano, was dismissed from the Nigeria Air Force.

Yusuf said the dismissed officer escaped with gunshot wound from the Gaya, Unogo Local Government Area clash.

Day 56- Abducted Lagos pupils are fine, says CP

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has said the six abducted pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, are fine.

The pupils – Peter Jonah, Isiaq Rahmon, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi, Pelumi Philips and Farouq Yusuf , had spent 55 days in captivity.

Some obviously disgruntled police officers have spoken their minds about the way the force treats its men. Some men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force have decried the alleged abandonment of their family members by the police authorities. This is following the killing of two policemen in a robbery at a Zenith Bank branch in Owerri, Imo State. According to Punch Metro, the operatives, who spoke on condition of anonymity, lamented that meager welfare package, poor equipment and absence of a good insurance policy discouraged them from giving their best to the Force. Many of them said they would never lay their lives on the line.
